Weapon Evolution: Ranks, Upgrades & "Three Times The Charm"

Every survivor has a weapon line that evolves through ranks and upgrades. Rank 2 unlocks (SWAT's Assault Rifle and Sniper Rifle, Tank's Minigun and Rocket Launcher, Engineer's Blaster and Laser, Pyro's Flamethrower and Infernax) outclass the starting gear by a wide margin, and upgrading them further pushes the gap.

Evolution is also an achievement: evolve three weapons to their third-tier form in a single run for "Three Times The Charm". Pick one survivor, keep buying their line's upgrades when they appear, and spread your picks across three different weapons instead of sinking everything into one.

Tank — Tank's headline line. The Bioweapon evolution covers Chemical, a damage type few other lines reach.

Engineer — Engineer's signature is the turret family. Ice Turret registers as Ice damage since patch 1.0.0a.

Huntress — Huntress's arrows focus single targets. Her T2 and T3 firing arc was reduced from 30 to 20 in 1.0.

Pyro — Named in the Steam store description. Fire has the broadest status support after 1.0 raised activation chances.

Mechanic — New in 1.0. Cooling Mods rewrites weapon damage to Ice; patch 1.0.0b made its damage instance land before the weapon's own.

Ranger — The ninth survivor, unlocked at Survival Level 175. Crossbow is her signature, plus Good Boy and Falcon companions that buff the squad's Critical and Luck.
